The debut of Nell

Nell is a beautiful shade of rose. She has very shy tone on tone stripes and is soft on one side and silky on the other.

Nell is a wonderful choice for the office or church. She is dignified and sophisticated. Nell does have a split personality so she keeps this next one in the closet, too, for when she is feeling Bohemian.

Both skirts can be found in my etsy shop.

I’m off to cut out those Sateens, now  ~rosie~

Cotton Sateen

Woo Hoo!

I just got my bolts of Cotton Sateen from Moda. I can’t wait to dig into them and make some skirt samples. I thought they would make lovely Holiday skirts.

You can’t really tell from the swatch photos but it has a nice sheen without it being satiny shiny. I will be cutting and pre-washing tomorrow. Hopefully, I will have a sample or two in my shop in a few days.

You do know Holiday parties are just around the corner, right?  ~rosie~

French Lace Batik

I ordered some of the collection French Lace Batik for uncommon yardage and it has proved to be an awesome purchase.

I used these 2 Sage selections first ….

French Lace Batiks at uncommon yardage

and made one of my very favorite skirts ever!

rosies whimsy custom french lace batik in sage

I took the extra time to run a row of embroidered stitching along the top of the border and at the hem. It really set of the lace batik of the border.

This is a long skirt because of the depth of the border. It can be made between the lengths of 24 and 29″. Perfect for someone who likes a bohemian look.

I have enough material to make 4 more. Guess who’s going to keep this one?

Mwaaaahahahaaaaaaa
