Mannequin Makeover
I have been wanting to work on this old girl for a long time. She was old when I picked her up at a junk store and I have used her hard for display over the years. So it was time she had a new look ~

The body is like the carpet of an old car so stripping her was not possible. Yes, I could have sewn a new cover for her but I wanted to try doing a Mod Podge tissue layering technique on her. I want her to come out looking more like distressed plaster mold. I think it will look great for displaying clothes for my etsy shop.
The first several layers are done. I ran out of goop, of course. Here’s what she looks like now. I am so excited to give her a tea stained look when I am done with all the layers and maybe some vintage lace and the bottom and around her neck ~ we’ll see ….
Waiting…
Took this simple picture this morning of one of the birdhouses waiting for relocation after we totally closed off our porch with screening ~
my Sunday reflection ~ do you ever feel you are just waiting to be shown where you should go next?
Verdant
I love this time of year when things have grown in fully and I can see the progress of the different garden areas. We have been in this house for 6 years and the front border by the front porch has grown in beautifully. The climbing hydrangea continues to climb and is winding around the front door. The rhododendron is about 6′ tall planted from a 2 gallon container ~ pretty good growth for mountainous PA. The mop head hydrangeas can boast the growth and I love the different shades of green, blue and pink.
I love the verdant abundance of my summer garden
I love to buy tops ~

These are two I bought last night …
One for my bottle of Merlot and one for daughter’s bottle of white wine ~ perfect
