Tunics

I am been having fun with my Sew Liberated Schoolhouse Tunic pattern.

Sew Liberated Schoolhouse Tunic

I bought some medium weight hemp and cotton blend material that is a perfect weight for Fall and Winter. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of shrinkage when I washed up my yardage before cutting. I allowed an extra 4″ when I cut it off the bolt thinking that I would surely need it. It barely shrunk 3/4 of an inch! Wasteful for the first cut but score for the fabric!

I’ve decided I really like working with this material so I need to find a wholesale source. Looks like I will be doing some major source surfing tomorrow :-)

I am starting my week off with three posts written for The Fabric Shopper only 6 more to go ~ tunics made for daughter Tara and step-daughter Kate ~ a tunic for my daughter in law Jen, cut out and ready to sew ~ custom orders lined up for 5 skirts and 1 purse for my etsy shop.

I love my life!
